The BSc Sustainable Maritime Operations qualification is aimed at those who wish to gain a full Bachelor’s degree, possibly upgrading from another previous achievement such as a Foundation degree.

This Maritime Operations course will particularly suit those with some professional experience in the maritime world, those currently working at sea or for those who have an academic interest in marine and maritime business and management.

Whilst studying this online maritime BSc degree, you will learn about the theories, principles, and models relevant to the modern maritime industry including maritime operations, MetOcean processes and impacts, and maritime regulation and governance. This will equip you with a broad understanding of the challenges and current affairs involved. You will develop skills in gathering, analysing, evaluating, and interpreting data in Sustainable Maritime Operations.

Following completion of the BSc Sustainable Maritime Operations you will be able to proceed with completing the six months Honours Project and graduate with the BSc (Hons) Sustainable Maritime Operations degree.

Typically, eligible candidates will have one of the following: 

• Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Foundation Degree (FdSc) in a relevant subject 
• Relevant work experience alongside professional qualifications (e.g., OOW/EOOW Certificate of Competency) 

And 

• GCSE English Grade C or above, or international equivalent 

In some circumstances it may be necessary for you to undertake our 8-week Sustainable Maritime Operations Access Course (SMO101) in order to meet the entry requirements.
