The bilingual Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine aims to train competitive professionals in the European Higher Education Area. UCAM guarantees a direct relationship with the profession, through cutting-edge learning models. Our facilities are equipped with the most innovative technology in Europe, based on advanced simulation environments in a Simulated Veterinary Hospital.
UCAM offers a unique teaching approach and a privileged relationship with up-and-coming veterinary disciplines such as physiotherapy, animal welfare and aquaculture to complement the clinical training of our students. Furthermore, students have access to a large number of internship agreements in agri-food companies, farms and veterinary clinics, which, together with our Clinical Hospital for Small and Large Animals, provide an environment in which students can apply all the knowledge they have acquired.
Veterinarians represent the key element of interconnection between animal welfare, human welfare and the environment, as applied to the One Welfare and One Health concept. The future professional profile of a veterinarian covers the following fields:
Future veterinarians require not only the necessary knowledge, but also scientific interest, strong organisational skills and a special interest in animal medicine and health, animal production, food hygiene and technology, and public health (from a veterinary point of view with the corresponding impact on humans). Students must be vocational and have a special sensitivity towards the animal world and nature protection.
Knowledge and skills similar to those required in Baccalaureate in the following subjects are recommended: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Biology.
In addition, students must have a definite vocation for health-related issues (biomedical sciences, socio-medical sciences, healthcare practice) and a scientific inclination, an interest in biomedical research and study.
An English and Spanish B1 level are required to be admitted in this Degree.
Students must have completed the Baccalaureate in Health Sciences. For students coming from other educational systems, it is necessary to have knowledge at the secondary education level in the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Biology.
